Yannik Brandt is looking forward to Zandvoort

Youngster’s first start in the Netherlands

Next weekend is going to be the half-time of the ADAC Formula 4. The next-to-last event of the high-speed young drivers’ school is going to take place in Dutch Zandvoort. Directly located on the North Sea coast, Yannik Brandt wants to tie in with his recent strong trend there.

Yannik Brandt still has good memories about the racing weekend on the Nurburgring. The 15-year-old rookie showed a strong performance at the ADAC Formula 4 with three strong ranked races. In the end he just barely missed his first championship points. “We’re getting faster with every race. That further motivates me of course. After the partly agitating season beginning we’ve now gained speed and are heading for the top ten”, said the young German.

The 4.307m long track among the North Sea dunes has a long tradition. In 1948 the Circuit Park Zandvoort was opened and was location of Formula 1 Grand-Prix 30 times until the 80s. The ADAC Formula 4 is celebrating its premiere on the Dutch race track. “This could be an advantage for me. Most drivers only know the track from test drives or maybe even have never been here. That decreases my lack of experience”, the youngster from the Lechner Racing Team knows about his chances.

The young driver won’t have much time to enjoy the waves and the white beach on the weekend though. Things are already going to get serious during free trainings and qualifying on Friday. “We’ve seen how important qualifying is this year. Therefore I’ll have to start fully concentrated and get the best out of me and my car”, Yannik explains.

The three ranked races are going to be spread out over the weekend again. The first two races are going to start on Saturday at 12 and 17:45. On Sunday the last race is going to take place at 10:20. The races can be viewed live on the German sports channels Sport1 and Sport1+ as well as on www.sport1.de again.
