Yannik is hoping for better luck in Oschersleben

Youngster wants to keep improving himself

Yannik Brandt’s ADAC Formula 4 premiere season has had a rather turbulent course so far. The youngster is now hoping for a change of trend in Oschersleben. The young German still has a score to settle with the track in the Magdeburger Boerde and wants to collect more rookie points.

Yannik Brandt from Swiss Forch is going to start as the youngest driver of the ADAC Formula 4. The young drivers racing series of the ADAC is impressing with a high power density again this season. More than 35 drivers are competing against each other in eight races throughout the season. The Championship is going to come back to Saxony-Anhalt for the last race before the summer break. An impressive setting awaits the rookie on the 3.696m long track in the Magdeburger Boerde. The ADAC Formula 4 youngsters start together with the TCR International Series.

“After the DTM on the Lausitzring the next highlight now waits for me”, says Yannik, who is looking forward to the weekend in Oschersleben, “after my turbulent season kick-off I now want to finish all of the races and collect championship points if possible.” The premiere in Oschersleben didn’t go according to plan for the Lechner Racing Team’s protégé. During the first race, he was involved in a collision und had to end the weekend prematurely. “This time I want to cross the finish line three times”, jokes Brandt.

The TCR International Series is said to be the top-touring car racing series and starts in eleven different countries worldwide next to the event in Oschersleben. “It’s great to start in such an environment. Due to a high coverage, we have the chance to bring us to the market even better”, Yannik knows.

Things are already going to get serious for the rookie on Friday afternoon. It’s going to be important to drive a fast time at qualifying: the best 11 of both groups are going to qualify directly for the three ranked races. “Just like at the previous events I want to try to enter the ranked races without any detours”, Yannik says confidently. The three races on Saturday and Sunday are going to be broadcast live on Sport1, Sport 1+ and via online-stream on www.sport1.de.
