After a rather long summer break the Audi Sport TT Cup is going to take up speed during the upcoming weeks. The kick-off to the second half of the year is going to be next weekend in Dutch Zandvoort. The race track at the North Sea provides a great backdrop – the Swiss rookie Yannik Brandt wants to fully attack there.
The first three races of the Audi TT Brand Cup already offered several highlights. Next to the guest stop within the framework of the 24h race on the Nurburgring, the youngsters also started on the Norisring in Nuremberg. The fourth of overall seven racing weekends is now going to take place on a permanent race track again.
Location is the 4.307m long track of the Circuit Park Zandvoort. In the past it has been the location of the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix. The track has gained cult status. Located directly at the North Sea coast, the race track provides an impressive backdrop. The track along the dunes is an old-school race track with spectacular downhill-passages and lots of fast bends. “I already know Zandvoort from last year’s Formula 4. Maybe this can be a small advantage for me this time. The track is challenging and a lot of fun to drive”, Yannik explains.
The German-Swiss’s entrance into the Audi Sport TT Cup went really well. He directly ended up on the podium at the kick-off on the Hockenheimring and was also able to establish himself on the front ranks during the following races. He’s going to travel to Zandvoort as the second driver on the rookie list of rankings and sixth driver on the overall list of rankings. “The rookie-title is my clear goal. I’ve been working hard these past weeks and constantly prepared for the races”, the 16-year-old went on.
Just like at the previous races, the young drivers of the Audi Sport TT Cup get the chance to get used to the track during a free training. Then qualifying follows, before there is a ranked race on Saturday and Sunday respectively. These are going to be broadcast live on www.audi.de, additionally there is going to be a summary with the best images on the German sports channel Sport1.
