Next weekend the AUDI Sport TT Cup is going to enter its crucial phase on the Red Bull Ring in Austria. Youngster Yannik Brandt is going to start highly motivated and wants to deliver a great performance on his favorite track. A test race already went promisingly for the German-Swiss.
Final spurt in the mountains: Two weeks after the last race of the AUDI Sport TT Cup the brand cup is going to travel to its second event abroad this season. This time the youngsters are going to start on the Red Bull Ring in Styria. The current Formula 1 race track belongs to the favorite tracks of young driver Yannik Brandt.
„I’m really looking forward to the start. The track is really special. Three weeks ago I started here at the Histo Cup and was quite successful. I now want to tie in with this. I was really good at qualifying on the Nurburgring. Unfortunately I didn’t have the necessary luck during the races then”, the Zürich resident summed up.
The 4.326m long track in Spielberg is one of the most challenging on the racing calendar of the AUDI Sport TT Cup. Despite an extensive remodel, the track kept its old characteristics. Fast passages, mountains and narrow bends demand highest concentration of the drivers.
At the championship Yannik is currently on the sixth place before the semi final and wants to enter the top three in the remaining races. “Things are really close together on the overall list of rankings right now. The first two drivers already have quite an advance, but third place is still possible and my clear goal”, the 16-year-old said ambitiously.
In Austria, the whole nine yards await Yannik again. After two free trainings and qualifying, the youngster is going to drive a race on Saturday as well as Sunday. These can be viewed via live-stream on www.audi.de again. Additionally there is going to be a summary on the German sports channel Sport1.
