This weekend, Yannik Brandt ends his season where he also started in May – on the Hockenheimring. The Youngster from the Audi Sport TT Cup would like to finish on the podium and defend his top five position in the championship.
The Hockenheimring, located in Baden-Württemberg, is Yannik’s home track. For the young German-Swiss, the journey to the current Formula 1 circuit is the shortest in the race calendar. The anticipation for the season finale is correspondingly great. “I like to go to Hockenheim very much and have best memories from the first season race. I secured my first pole position of the year and was third on the podium”, summarizes the 17-year-old race driver.
Since the start of the season, the rookie in the Audi Sport TT Cup has experienced exciting races on the most demanding racetracks in Germany and neighboring countries. Yannik showed consistently his talent and was one of the fastest newcomers. As fifth in the championship, he now takes part in the final and would like to defend this place.
The scenery will once again be overwhelming. Traditionally the season finale of the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) is visited by lots of motorsport-fans, more than 50,000 spectators are expected again. “The atmosphere of the DTM is unique and gives you a great feeling in the car. The final will once again be a highlight. I will be fully attack again and would like to be on the podium”, Yannik points out.
The Audi Sport TT Cup is competing this time both races on Saturday. The first race starts in the morning at 9:10 am, the second race takes place at the best time directly after the DTM at 16:20. Both races can be followed again on the live stream at www.audi.de.
